Just Another Day

At Work

Glitter Party

Oh what a night!

Give me an excuse to make something over the top and I won't disappoint. In this case it was Joey's Glitter themed Super Sweet 25 Party.

In just a couple hours I went from this...

To this...

To this...

To this...

Like I said... What a night!

Happy Birthday Joey!

Dreams Come True

Once upon a time there was a boy who lived in a small town and dreamed of moving to New York City. He had fantasies of working in fashion and modeling for his idols, the designers he worshipped in the issues of Vogue and W he would buy each month. At 16 after a very painful growth spurt he reached the height of 6'3 and became obsessed with making his dreams come true. Years down the line he graduated with a degree in Fashion design, moved to NYC and experienced so many of the things he had dreamt about. The one thing he hadn't achieved, which he thought had a time limit because of age, and had just about given up on was walking the runway. To most this may seem ridiculous, but for anyone who has lived in a small town, who has ever felt like the ugly duckling, who wanted to be a part of something more knows where the boy is coming from.

The boy is now 25, the boy is (obviously) me.

I know this is silly, I know it's shallow, but last night a dream I was holding on to for so long because a tiny piece of me refused to let go of came true. Betsey Johnson asked me to walk in her show. I of course accepted but was to busy with working to get the show together to get excited for the fact that I was going to be in it. It wasn't until I got my hair, makeup and nails done, then changed into my look that I started to turn back into that little boy and the adrenalin started to race through my body.

After my turn on the runway, my heart was racing, my hands were shaking. Words can not express what I was feeling. Happy and its synonyms just don't cover it. The 16 year old inside me lived out his dreams that the 25 year old on the outside was convinced would only ever be a dream.

Thank you Betsey.

Oh and being on didn't hurt either.

Dandy Lion Update: Part 2

I went ahead and did it, I listed my first item on Etsy

Visit my shop!

More to come soon!

Dandy Lion Update

In my seconds of free time I've been trying to work on my Dandy Lion project. I've come up with some ideas, patterns, and designs, it's on it's way. Hopefully very soon I'll have some product in my Etsy shop up for grabs.

My very first tie, made of spare fabric I had used to make curtains in my first New York apartment.

Quilted this number from cotton fabric quarters I purchased a while back and lined it with silk satin. My signature neck-tie, a simple piece that always makes a statement.

Our Narcissus have bloomed!

Next up, starting the summer vegetable garden.

Our Date with Martha

A few details...

Abby and I were seated front row.

Post filming, Martha secretively told me she liked my pink socks.

At the question and answer portion she announced publicly her liking to my socks. Yay.

Martha gives good loot: a cookbook, a P-Touch Labeler, and a leg of lamb.

But the best part of the whole experience was seeing the smile on Abby's face. Hands down.
